Cross-border cooperation, including cooperation with the United Kingdom, is not optional; it is essential. 

For a long time, the Interreg programmes have facilitated this cooperation. Together, we face shared challenges: climate change, maritime and energy security, water resilience, quality of life and sustainable economic growth. In times of geopolitical uncertainty, cross-border cooperation strengthens stability, resilience and mutual trust. 

Do you also want to be able to work with British partners again in the new Interreg period? In the Wimille Declaration, the Straits Committee calls on the European Commission, national governments and Interreg programme authorities to enter into dialogue with one another without delay.
